 Plasma is the fourth  state of matter: Liquid, Solid, Gas and Plasma.  The principle behind this revolutionary new treatment is to ionize gases in the air to create a small plasma arc, similar to a tiny lightning bolt, with which the areas affected by aesthetic problems may be treated without unwanted damage to surrounding areas.   The plasma spark causes instant contraction and tightening of skin fibers, thus resulting in the reduction of the skin surface.  The result is an improvemnt of the firmness and tension of the skin causing a lifting effect.  Since plasma energy affects the collagen and elastin, the result is a lifted contour, a decrease in deep wrinkles, thicker and firmer skin.

How long until results?

Results are usually evident between 6 to 8 weeks but up to 3 months for the full effect.  The treatment can last between 2-4 years. As the ageing process is continuous, the treatment will not stop your natural ageing process, but skin will stay smooth and tight till future natural wrinkle formation or sagging of the skin occurs over the coming years.

What can be treated?

Plasma fibroblast is successfully used to treat lines and wrinkles, loose skin on face and body, scarring, stretchmarks as well as benign raised skin lesions.

How many treatments and what to expect?

Results vary with each individual but most patients only require 1-3 treatments depending on the amount and severity of skin laxity as well as each individuals healing ability. Deeper wrinkles, expression lines and excessive loose skin usually require a touch-up procedure. Most people will see fairly significant results after the first treatment, and if additional treatments are required, they can be performed between 6 to 12 weeks after the original treatment.

Immediately after the treatment small brown dots (carbon crusts) will be noticeable and stay for about 5-14 days before they come off and expose fresh new skin beneath. Redness and swelling, especially with eye procedures, are completely normal and should subside within a few days after the treatment, redness or pinkness of the new skin may last for up to 8 weeks or until the skin has completely healed and the collagen and elastin fibers are replaced. Redness that lasts longer than 8 weeks is very rare but possible.  It is recommended to not make plans for a few days after eye procedures as it is normal for the eye area to swell sometimes a lot.
